The 3rd International Symposium on Gasification and its Applications (iSGA-3), will build on the two very successful earlier iSGA conferences held in Shanghai, China in 2008 and Kyushu, Japan in 2010. The Symposium will cover the entire field related to science, technology and policy of gasification of coal, biomass and other carbonaceous feedstocks, as well as applications to power generation, production of liquid fuels, and related topics.
Topic Areas
The Symposium will cover the complete spectrum from fundamental research to operating experience. Industrial participation will be especially welcome, and it is hoped that delegates will come from all parts of the world. Linked to the Symposium will be a tour of a Demonstration Biomass Gasifier and of the research facilities of the University of British Columbia. It is also planned that there will also be a Symposium dinner.
Affiliation
The Symposium will be a component of the larger 62nd Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference, held in the same hotel (Hyatt Hotel in downtown Vancouver) and subject to the same Registration procedures. Delegates will be free to attend sessions of the conference going on in parallel in the same hotel, including several symposia which are likely to be of mutual interest, e.g. on Biomass and Bioenergy, on Sustainability, on Spouted Beds, and on Fuel Cells, Batteries and Electrochemical Technologies.
Publication
Papers submitted to the Symposium Committee by mid-August will be compiled and distributed to delegates on a CD-ROM. In addition, a special issue of the international journal Fuel will feature many of the most worthy papers presented at the Symposium.
